I had my first in GA with an incredible team and had very high standards from my first experience. She did not disappoint and is top tier. She advocated for me when I was hospitalized with Covid pneumonia , challenging the medical system as an educated nurse who knew more than the doctors. After she drove nine hours from Maine to Pennsylvania to rescue me from the hospital, she took me home and nursed me back to life. She also advocated for my son, when he was in the ICU on life-support and for my father, her grandfather, when he was in hospice. She stays calm while dealing with the most stressful circumstances. I had the pleasure of working with Emily during my pregnancy and post birth. She offered a multitude of supports including: birth planning resources, 1-1 sessions, sessions with husband and myself and postpartum doula support in home. I also attended one of her monthly women’s circles, which was an added bonus along the way! There is no doubt that Emily is extremely passionate about supporting people in their birthing experiences. She has a calming presence that immediately leaves you feeling at ease to open up about fears, doubts and concerns related to pregnancy/birth. I had my heart set on managing pain with no meds and delivering vaginally. It’s been 7 weeks with our new baby girl now and we’re so very grateful for everything we received from Emily. We were able to stick to our birth plan and deliver a healthy baby the way we wanted to. And during the early postpartum weeks I felt a great deal of support from Emily. She allowed me to take breaks during her visits and this helped me to start understanding how I’d need to care for myself. She knows how much the mother needs love during this time of adjustment.
